EXACTLY AS ADVERTISEDNov 04, 2010
By FloridaFellow What a pleasure to receive a product, in Amazon's typically timely manner, that is exactly as the advertiser represents it to be and all that I had imagined it would be. Very few watches meet the criteria of 200m water resistance, screw-down crown, and all-titanium construction. The Wenger 72349 surely is one of the best bargains among watches that do meet those criteria. Although I haven't put them on scales to compare their respective weights, this watch is considerably lighter than any of my other dive-type watches. I have a 2-piece Zulu nylon strap on order to replace the substantial, excellent quality rubber strap that comes with the watch. I'm not dissatisfied with the rubber strap, rather its replacement is simply a matter of personal taste to further reduce weight and enhance comfort. From my subjective view, the watch is a perfect size for extended wear if one wishes to make this watch his everyday "beater." For the record, the width of the watch, including the crown and its surround, is 44mm (measured by metric ruler rather than with a micrometer). Strap width at the lugs is 20mm. One potential source of concern may be that the mineral glass crystal is slightly convex and extends above the plane of the bezel, which may make it prone to contact with life's crystal-scratching demons. I'm quite pleased with this purchase and recommend the Wenger 72349 to everyone who has the desire to own a watch of this type.
UPDATE 01-04-2011: This watch has become the timekeeping star among my non-atomic watches. After two months it's still hacked exactly to the Fort Collins signal according to my atomic watches. --Ron
UPDATE 02-07-2011: I found a titanium bracelet for this watch. The all-titanium combination is unbelievably light for a non-Casio watch of this size (Casios are my standard for light weight and value) and looks just awesome! --Ron
