Yes, This Is the Beloved Classic Seiko Black/Orange MonsterAug 22, 2010

The Seiko SKXA43 is the American number for the Japanese Seiko SKX779. These watches are identical and are the only ones worthy of being called The Black Monster. Only 45mm across the bezel, this Seiko is not a big bling watch like an Invicta Russian Diver or any other watch that is close to 55mm in bezel size.
But the Seiko's bezel thickness gives it heft and it looks good on my 8-inch wrists. Another thing I like about the look is that it's not too extravagant but it's muscular and classic and I know I'll want to wear it for many years to come.
This is an automatic watch with no winding option so you have to wear it to keep it ticking (or buy an expensive watch winder).
Another plus about this watch: Great lume, which means you can easily read the dial in a dark environment.
I found mine for $186 and made sure from the seller that I got the more valued Japanese movement, not the one from Malaysia or Singapore.
I love this watch for dress or casual. Highly recommended. If you want a slightly bigger version of a Seiko diver automatic with a winding option, you might check out the "Frankenzilla," the Seiko SKZ253, about $200-$250 depending on sales.
Update: Since writing this review, Amazon has featured the orange version, the Seiko Orange Monster. Same watch. I have both, but I prefer the look of the black one, especially when seen in person.
